2014 Membership Forms Now Available! (Click Here)

The Board of Directors determined the fees effective October 1, 2013 for this year:

Basic Membership:
Single Membership $40 or Family Membership (two listings in the Arts Directory) $50, Additional Directory Listing $10

Premium Membership: Premium members for 2013 will be extended to 2014 at no additional cost.
You will receive all of the benefits of Basic Membership
  • plus a member link to your personal website
  • plus a full Gallery on the website, to include approx. 25 images and biography
An extra $50 will be applied to the Single Membership Fee and Family Membership Fee respectively for this added benefit.

The 2014 membership year will be from January to December 2014.

All new applications for 2014 Membership must be received before December 15 or they will not be included in the South Simcoe Arts Directory for 2014. Applications received after December15 will be included as addendums throughout the year and will be updated on the SSAC website.

Please note that an organization’s or a group’s membership does not entitle an individual to the benefits and to reduced entry fees to our events, festivals and programs. One must be an individual member to receive the benefits. Organizations and groups will receive all information, advertising and promotion.

Benefits of Membership to the South Simcoe Arts Council:
  • Promoting & supporting us to have a presence in our community.
  • Promotion of exhibits, events, musical performances, literary readings and workshops (member events are promoted throughout Central/South Ontario to the media and our members by way of bi-weekly Arts-E-Talk on-line. Members will need to advise SSAC if they do not have on-line accessibility)
  • Arts in our Communities program, public art rotations providing exclusive opportunities to showcase your work.
  • Arts recognition awards through our events
  • Support for member groups
  • Opportunities for collaborative marketing and sales with local businesses, Renew New Tecumseth, Pop-up Art Markets, the hospital and other arts organizations
  • Discounts on most SSAC events, programs
  • Networking with other members
  • Curry’s Art Store, Barrie has again offered to provide Membership benefits for 2014 along with a 10% discount on all merchandise.
  • 10% off purchases of supplies or work over $50.00 at Lloyd’s Gallery, Alliston (Show your membership card for discounts!)
  • Display of printed brochures, postcards, or flyers of members, promoting their local artistic activity. In 2013, we distributed 2,200 Arts Directories in Central Ontario.
  • On-line Member Directory Members who provide consent are entitled to be listed in our on-line directory Online member gallery presence complete with biography, contact links and photos of the artist’s work

Arts-E-Talk
- An online newsletter filled with listings of current and upcoming events such as concerts, exhibitions, performances, art calls and workshops available to the local Arts community.

E-blast - Receive bi-weekly emails of upcoming arts events.

Directory - Inclusion in the Arts Council Directory, a source and resource for the community that is distributed to local and regional libraries, schools, chambers of commerce, tourist and information centres. We have also just introduced a new online directory for members.

Premium Membership
- With a premium membership you can have your own web page to showcase your talent using images and biography complete with links.

Networking - Attend or establish workshops as a means of growth and an opportunity to meet other artists.

Showcasing - Participate in the “Arts on Main” festival, a terrific venue to present, promote and develop the local arts community.

Exhibiting - Show your artwork in local venues, such as the Libraries and an exciting venue for artists in the new South Simcoe Arts Council Gallery at the Gibson Centre. Contact the office for more details.

Teaching - Share your talents. Opportunities, such as Summer Arts Camps and other workshops, are varied. Contact the office for more details.

Politics - Vote at our annual and general meetings. We need your input to help set the direction and focus of issues you consider relevant in our agenda.

Growth - Create your own sub-committee or guild to further promote specific areas of creative expression.

Volunteer Opportunities - Join an eclectic group of people dedicated to the development and support of the creative arts; people with a variety of experiences and disciplines who generously share time and talent with each other and their communities
