Follow up to The South Simcoe Arts Council and the Queen's Business Decision
Business Plan Exercise - Thursday, Nov, 3rd, 2011
The South Simcoe Arts Council carried out a Strategic Planning / Business Plan exercise which included the parties that it collaborates and partners with. i.e. Chambers of Commerce, Business Improvement Associations, Representatives of the numerous Festivals and Events, our stakeholders, the Board of Directors which now includes Municipal Representatives, staff and key volunteers involved in the delivery of our programs.
· To clarify the direction of the Arts Council with respect to the communities it serves. Are our programs relevant?
· To develop priorities, to develop action plans and generate pragmatic results.
· To assist the Board of Directors and Staff to create associated capital budgets, potential changes in vision, mission and direction.
Rationale for choosing the Queen’s Executive Decision Centre
Lynda Mitchell Reynolds, Executive Director highly recommended her previous senior municipal experience which effectively used the Queen’s Executive Decision Making Centre to bring stakeholders together to successfully develop strategic plans for its core businesses.
We hope that you enjoyed this process and that you were satisfied that consensus has been achieved to realize an effective Strategic Business Plan that you can relate to immediately!
The QEDC solution is founded on a powerful technology for supporting meetings - Group Decision Support Software (GDSS). Research and our experience indicated that this technology provides a number of important advantages compared to traditional approaches:
· As you will note the deliberations and results are automatically captured electronically and immediately available for review.
·Attached are the Strategic/ Business Plan Highlights that include a set of objectives and action plans for 12-24 months as well as a 100-day path forward with actions and deliverables to ensure that the momentum generated and commitments made are followed through on.
Should you require a full copy of the entire report, please advise us and we will have a copy forwarded to you.
