Arts on Main is an exciting event during our Festival of the Arts. Artists have the opportunity to display their work in the front windows of stores on the main streets in Alliston, Beeton, Cookstown & Tottenham. 
 


Jurors for Arts On Main Art Show

Ron de Boer –
Gallery Owner/Director, Photographer, Curator
Gallery de Boer – Fine Art & Jazz exhibits artwork from realistic to abstract styles, using a wide variety of media including oil, acrylic and water color, photography as well as bronze and stone sculptures. Former Director of the Tom Thomson Memorial Art Gallery his “Art Talk” column is published in a number of art publications and he collaborates with museums, public art galleries, commercial galleries and the secondary school systems on special projects.

Andrew Benyei – Sculptor
Member of the Ontario Society of Artists. Andrew is best known for his figurative sculptures. A graduate of OCAD, he pursues his art full time. His work is expressive and contemporary and captures human dynamics as well as the human condition. He has exhibited in Canada, US, New Zealand, New Mexico and Budapest.

Janet Hendershot – Painter
Educated at Rudolf Steiner College, Sacramento, CA, Janet received her BFA at York University and also studied at Alfred State University NY. Janet is a Past President of the Ontario Society of Artists. He artworks on paper and canvas have been exhibited in Mexico, Colombia, Paris and London, England as well as across Canada. Janet's paintings have been juried into 14 exhibitions since 1997 and her work can be found in many private and public collections.

Visit the main streets of  ALLISTON, BEETON, COOKSTOWN, AND TOTTENHAM!

ARTWALKS IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Arts On Main festivities will rotate in each community with Artwalks and Entertainment taking place on a designated Saturday in each community between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Artwalks commencing at 10:30 am.

Alliston Artwalk: Saturday, May 8
Cookstown Artwalk: Saturday May 15
Tottenham Artwalk: Saturday, May 22
Beeton Artwalk: Saturday, May 29

Admission Free for all events!

When the People’s Choice Award has been determined, the voters’ ballots will be entered into a draw to take place at the Showcase of South Simcoe.  (Prizes donated by South Simcoe businesses)

Voting will continue until May 31, 2010.
